Hurricane Harbor

Season Pass or one day ticket?

The 2022 Thrill Seeker Pass includes Free Parking and Six Flags Magic Mountain admission. Feel free to purchase the Season Pass at $69.99. Go twice and you're golden.

For your first time:

  • You must visit our local Hurricane Harbor which closes in early October before it will work at Magic Mountain
  • Get your Season Pass then activate it on the Six Flags app

What should I bring?

  • Waterproof pouch for your phone
  • Comfortable swimwear like water moccasin or thong style shoes
  • Hooded, long sleeve swim shirt or any other rash guard style for sun protection
  • Eyewear adjustable retainer to keep your shades from flying off unless you pocket or don't use one
  • If you drove, bring the key

Magic Mountain

Worth it?

Yes. Your Platinum membership looks good with just two trips to the “Thrill Capital of the World” even if you skip the fun of our local Hurricane Harbor!

What can we do at the park?

We start the day by minimizing the time spent in lines while maximizing our fun.

Magic Mountain contains the most roller coasters in the world. These are my favorites:

My S Tier

  1. X2
  2. Tatsu
  3. Twisted Colossus

My A Tier

  1. Full Throttle
  2. West Coast Racers
  3. Goliath ← my controversial opinion

What is the bare minimum to bring in?

  • Phone that runs our state Driver's License app, Google/Apple Pay and the Six Flags app
  • If you drove, bring the key

What is convenient to bring in?

Bring food and snacks into Magic Mountain along with sealed water bottles. Entrance security understands that you have food allergies or preferences that are unavailable inside.

  • Six Flags drink cup or a refillable water bottle
  • Carrier sling on the refillable drink for a distinct look and easy cross body carry
  • Zippered fanny pack so you can secure your pocketable items while on looping coasters
  • Eyewear adjustable retainer to keep your shades from flying off unless you pocket or don't use one
  • If you go on water rides or it's raining, a Ziploc to protect anything that can be damaged when soaked

Purses and cross body packs are not allowed on roller coasters. You are allowed to wear a small, zippered fanny pack that wraps around your waist.

Universal Studios Hollywood: Halloween Horror Nights

How many Halloween Horror Nights attractions can we experience in one evening?

Entering the park after 2p will allow us to fast track three popular horror night houses before 7p.

  • Queue up at the holding area nearest our first house around 5:30p
  • First house starts at 5:45p
  • Second house should finish as Halloween Horror Nights early attendees start trickling in
  • Third and possibly fourth house wait times remain quick

After that, we can:

  • Experience less popular attractions
  • Board the Terror Tram which drops us off in the studio backlot
  • Check out the Scare Zones
  • Enjoy the Stage Shows

Finally, we finish with one or two popular attractions as the crowds thin.

Worth it?

Absolutely not.

Costs will be very high for this “experience” so I recommend against it but we're still going.

  • $99 HHN General Admission starts at 7p with some early availability after 6p
  • $139 After 2 PM Day/Night allows earlier entry with all available park attractions

If you have a healthy budget with conventions and other social activities covered, feel free to consider Halloween Horror Nights. Otherwise, come join us at Hurricane Harbor!
